No paid hosted, team, pro, or enterprise plan is currently published.
The repository license governs the software.
The product focuses on the local Mac where coding agents use developer tools.
Releases, issues, and source are available through the Automic Vault repository.
Included
| Capability | Included in the free release |
|---|---|
| Secrets | Local keychain-backed storage and approved injection into trusted tools. |
| Approvals | Runtime gates for commands that can reveal credentials or mutate infrastructure. |
| Packages | Controlled package roots and package intelligence for agent-used tools. |
| Tracing | Static shell installer tracing through av trace. |
Why free
Automic Vault runs on the developer Mac because that is where agents can read files, invoke CLIs, and mutate local package state. The free release focuses on closing those local hazards before they become transcript leaks or unreviewed tool actions.
Keep using your existing password manager or cloud secret system. Vault protects the local execution point where tools ask for credentials.
The security boundary is easier to trust when the installer, CLI behavior, and package hardening logic can be inspected in public.
The Mac that runs agents is now part of the security perimeter. Pricing stays simple while that local boundary is still being established.
If hosted team services ship later, this page should change. Today the public macOS release has no billing step.

These answers are visible on the page and mirrored in FAQ schema so search and answer engines can cite them without guessing.
Automic Vault currently costs $0 and is distributed as free open-source macOS software under the Apache License 2.0.
It is not a hosted team vault. It is a local tool boundary for package installs, credential injection, scanners, and command approvals.
Teams can still use 1Password, HashiCorp Vault, AWS, GitHub, and npm. Automic Vault controls when local tools receive those credentials.
Provenance
The public project links product source, license, issue tracking, and security disclosure paths so developers can verify what is running on their Mac.
